For a by-pass humidifier

Can I install the humidifier unit on the supply plenum and run the 6" duct from the return plenum to the humidifier? My space is so limited that I can't fit the humidifier unit on the return plenum.

If it is installed this way, are there drawbacks to do it like this? Are the results the same?

Wink

I dont know what one you have . But the Aprilaire bypass one show it on the Plenum and the bypass pipe going into the return air drop.

I have the Desert Spring one at home right now, but I may return it for an Aprilaire if that will work. My spaces are so confining in and around the furnace, it is probably the only way installing a humidifier will work.

Thanks for the info. It really helps.
