Coolerator Dehumidifier Help

I have an older(?) Coolerator Dehumidifier model 227 F . Works great, but I need a new fan motor. Having trouble locating a motor. Had 1 quote--$100!! forget that..

Info & numbers on motor:

Leece-Neville
Model H00143404G
RPM 1350
Amps .95
Type 404G

The shaft(from motor face to end of shaft) measures 5/16" by 1"
Motor is 2 7/8" long
2 bolts (center of hole to center of hole measurement) 2 13/16"
Motor width is 3 1/4"
(all measurements are approximate)

Any help/info where I can get a motor at would be greatly appreciated!

have you tried a local motor shop?

Otherwise, could try Grainger.

Dehumidifier fan runs non-stop?

We found a dehumidifier in our basement when we moved into our house (10+ years ago). It wasn't much to look at but we plugged it in and it has done the job faithfully every summer since. I'm not sure how efficient it was but all it had was a plug and a knob. I would tweak the setting until it cycled full on and full off a couple of times per day. This winter we had a newer model given to us. It is a Kenmore with the digital display for humidity, buttons for fan speed, turbo mode, etc. The Kenmore works and hits the desired humidity setting but the fan never shuts off. Is this 'normal' and if so is this more efficient than one that shuts completely off when not dehumidifying?Read More

Generalaire E2 humidistat not working...not enough power?

I have a Generalaire E2 and a Generalaire bypass humidifier. When I hook the E2 up directly to the furnace/humidifier/xformer via about 4 feet of wire, it works perfectly. When I hook it up upstairs on about 25-30 feet of wire it does not. Upstairs, it powers up as normal and reads the outdoor sensor fine. It tells me in/out temp and indoor humidity. When I set it to manual mode and adjust the humidity level up (even all the way up to 60%), it does not throw the little relay to turn on the humidifier. I have replaced the wire and I know the wire is good. I measure 25-27 VAC at the main floor location, and the same downstairs on the 4 foot piece of wire. I'm thinking that I have enough voltage but not enough current available at the end of the wire run to turn it on? It's a 24VAC 12 va transformer. Tomorrow I will go get a 'jucier' transformer and try it maybe 20 or 25 va - but 25-30 feet is not a very long distance and it seems strange that it won't work when it works fine on 4 feet of wire.
