Basement dehumidifier over-wall pump

I have a dehumidifier in a finished carpeted basement room that is separated from the unfinished basement by a cinder block wall.

Currently, the dehumidifier is connected via garden hose "around the corner" to the floor drain on unfinished side.

Can I use a extra 2nd furnace condensate pump as a dehumidifier drain pump to collect the dehumidifier condensate and pump it "over the wall" to the laundry tub sink along with the 1st actual furnace condensate pump?

Bypass humidifier question (Aprilaire 600 specifically)

Hello, I have two questions. I am looking specifically at the Aprilaire 600. (1) Would I be adding inefficiences to the system if my bypass duct is long and jogged serval times (approximately 7 feet of duct, as I have a horizontal unit and I have to get from the supply to the return)? (1a) If there are inefficiences in this would it be recommended to use the 700 instead? (2) Can the same unit be configured right-hand or left-hand? I don't know if I am going to put on supply or return yet (question of room), but I do know that I have to go on the front of the unit. Thanks for the help...Read More

Im thinking of getting one of these to work on my basement after i finish it as well as get tied to my HVAC system. The wife is from a hot country and hates air conditioning but also cant stand our super humid summers in NE ohio. We are comfortable setting the temp at 78-80 with the ac but the humidity in my house is normally 60-65% and 70% sometimes when the ac isnt running. The basement is worse with some mold/efflorecence on a bowing wall that is getting rebuilt soon. Im guessing its about 90% down there cause the small dehum i have runs all day about 50% of the time. Anyone know what installed cost of these things are for the midwest (ohio) ? what about noise levels. I plan on making this space into a rec room/tv room eventually. ThanksRead More
