Kenmore Runs then compressor shuts down
Kenmore Model 580 #5165 Dehumidifier. I am a novice but thought I would try this. Starts fine and fan and compressor come on, coils cool and condensation runs into tank. Runs for 10 minutes or so and then compressor shuts off, fan continues to run. Turn off and let sit for 15 minutes or so, turn on and same thing. Not sure where to start looking. Anything I can test. Looked at Tech Sheet and there is an OLP (assume an overload protector) that I tried to bypass but it is part of the main circuit board so that didn't work or tell me anything.

I'm an HVAC pro but have never worked on small dehumidifiers. I would start by removing the cover and cleaning the condensor coil. It could be dirty causing the compressor to overheat.

Just spent 20 on replacing the sensor assembly. It's the cause and works perfectly for about 2 weeks now. I'm not sure which sensor actually goes bad but of the three (humidity, bucket full or other) my guess would be the humidity sensor.
