Kenmore shuts off after 2 minutes

Unit is about 3 years old. Worked well first couple of summers (don't run it in winter) in damp basement. Third summer has not worked well at all. Fan and compressor run at startup, but stops entirely after a couple of minutes. Will restart immediately if I 'reset' the rotary humidt control dial from max to min back to max. Couple minutes more, then stops.

I have cleaned the filter, and the coils. Coils all cold. I've also tried relocating the humidistat outside of the unit to test it. No improvement.

Any thoughts on the culprit here?

Sounds like the humidity dial is acting up..

Have you tried by passing this, and see if it keeps on running?
