Honeywell HE260 or Generalaire 900???
Im looking at installing a whole house humidifier, Im torn between the honeywell he260 and generalaire 900. It will be a diy installation. Any recommendations for one unit vs. the other. The generalaire has an outdoor temperature sensing bulb......ive heard these can cause some problems with the units funtion. Of course you research the products and both companies claim their unit is superior for reliabilty and features. any insight by those of you that have either of these units, have field experience ect... will be appeciated.

They are both going to work the same.. Only thing I notice is that Generalaire has the summer/winter damper, where on the Honeywell you will have to add a damper.
Only thing I may question on on the pad for the Generalaire, not sure if you are able to find them at home centers, where I can get my Honeywell at Home Depot.
If your winter temps are extream and vary a lot in a day, go with the sensor. If you are a mild temp area, then no need for them.
I have an outdoor sensor tied to my Honeywell IAQ t-stat to control the humidity in the home, and I've been pleased with the results of it.. I don't want to be changing my set point everyday when we are like in the teens in the day time, and -10 at night.
