560 humidifier
I have a 560 and lately I have noticed that the water continues to run when the furnace is not, blower off also. I think there is too much water being wasted by it doing this. I have been told that it should not be running and get it looked at to see what may be out of order. I had the electric disconnected to it for over a year and decided to give it a try again as I think there needs to be some humidity in the air. If I raise the level of humidity on the thermostat it will shut off. I think it would continue to run if I did not do this. Any ideas from anyone?

Does it stop when you change the humidistat to a lower setting/off?
If not, then undo one of the low voltage wire on the solenoid valve, and see if it stops.
If not, then you may have something caught up in the the plunger inside the valve, or poor spring inside the valve.

ok, sounds like there is nothing telling it when there is heat or no heat..
Follow the low voltage wire from the humidifer and see if there is some type of switching...
A50 Relay, or Sail switch.
If nothing is found, then see how the transformer is wired up.
If you have a newer furnace, we may be able to rewire it to the board... otherwise an A50 relay is needed.
