Question Install next to central air evaporator (A coil)?

I just got a Aprilaire 600A and have been debating where to mount it. I've read the forums, but didn't see this specifically address. I have low ceilings in the basement. If I mount the humidifier on the supply, I'd have to cut into the plenum right next to the central air's evaporator (A coil). Would mounting the humidifier cause any problems?

I figure since the evaporator natural get wet during the summer and since the humidifier is added moisture through evaporation, this wouldn't be a problem.

The alternative is to install on the return where there is much more room. In either case, I plan on using the hot water supply. I'm in Wisconsin and the cold water gets very cold in the winter.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Wink

Id check first and see that it wont face right into the flatside of the A coil there. The humidity wont hurt the A coil.

By flatside, do you mean the side that has the copper tubes exposed or the side by the fins? I would be installing it on a side that faces the fins (next to the A so to speak).

Right, want on on the side of the A. not in front of it to block the air flow.
