dehumidifier: fan works, compressor does not.

my basement flooded out, and we need this dehumidifier... but the compressor stopped working... i turned it off, moved it, and not just the fan runs...i looked and cant see any fuses... my first guess is to bypass the humidistat... but im gonna ask the pros... my area of expertese is older window a/cs... not dehumidifiers

Do you have power going to the compressor? Or the relay is stuck and not able to start the compressor.

I would check to make sure you are getting power to the start relay coil. If power to it, then want to see if you are getting power to the start winding.

If all is good, then may want to check the overload control to see if it's open.
