Generalaire 1042-L running while fan is on

hello,
I have a Generalaire humidifier installed on my furnace 6 years ago. Now i have to change the pump that helps to drain water out and I noticed that the humidifier is running all the time, since I set the fan to ON on my thermostat. It seems to me that currently, the humidifier is driven by the fan, which I need to run all the time to equalize the heat and humidity in all rooms.
The unit is connected to the ET118 Panel from Viconics, that comes with the thermostat and have only two wires from the panel to it.
On the panel, the two wires are connected on HUM and C pins. There is also a pin R, but it is not connected.
My question is how can I wire the humidifier so that it kicks off only when there is a call of heat?

Any help would be much appreciated ! Thanks.

I am not able to find the right manual to show setup/program of the system.

Do you have the manuals with this control? If you do, see if you can find anything about setting up Humidifier on control.

Hi Jay,

Here is the only documentation I could here:
http://www.viconics.com/products/the...8eng_Rev02.pdf
By the way, the ET118 is the thermostat user interface and the control panel is P118.

Thanks.

Yeah, that one don't tell me anything..

You can try calling the company and see if they can send you a manual or ask them how you can control the Humidifier on heat only, not with fan only.
