Wiring an american standard freedom 90 single stage furnace to honeywel hum 220a

So just moved into a new house and noticed the humidifier on the furnace was not kicking on. Tested it and decided it was the solenoid. Well...replaced the solenoid and as soon as i turned it back on the humidifier refused to turn off. Runs the whole time whether furnace on or not.

i checked the wiring and it looks a little fishy to me so i thought id ask you guys for some help. The humidifier is a honeywell he220a and the furnace is an american standard freedom 90 single stage.

Currently, there is a white wire that runs from the C (must be the common) on the furnace to the solenoid, and then from the solenoid to the humidstat. Then there is a red wire that runs from the R on the furnace board directly to the humidstat.

Id like for the humidifier to only turn on when the furnace is blowing. There is no sail switch or relay. Does this sound right? If not, how I can wire this baby correctly?

thanks!

tom

FYI, the wire going out to the humidifier and humidstat is the brown one that has the green wire wrapped around it.
