Hooking up Humidifier

I am about to install this exact setup on a Ducane MPGA100B4 gas furnace (with Honeywell ST9120C control board https://customer.honeywell.com/resou...0s/69-0781.pdf), two questions:

1) The red/white wires you have coming out of the humidifier in the schematic that are connecting to the relay, are they the 120v power wires (wired in series with a 120v power source) or the control wires that would otherwise go to the humidstat?

2) If they are the control wires, the pressure switch is not needed, correct? I would configure the Nest to use HUM + HEAT for the fan, correct?

I am guessing we are hooking up the HE360 to the Nest?

Yes, a Nest 2.0 is the thermostat.

Then you need to wire it like this. You wire the two yellow wires to the relay contact side.

Aprilaire 760 issue.

I have an Aprilaire 760 which always seems to give me issues every few years. This time around, the fan and water do not work. First, let me address the water: This is typically a frozen solenoid valve which has happened once before from water deposits. Yes I am putting in a filter this go around when I replace it. My main issue is the fan does not start. This is where I'm at. Fan: If I jump the brown wires the fan does turn on and runs. (Yes, I can also hear the water solenoid click see above) Furnace Relay Output: Reads 25-26v when the furnace is running. Humidistat: Reads 25-26v from the common wire of the relay and switched side of the Humidistat when the circuit is closed. When is opened/humidistat is turn off, voltage is 0 as expected. Brown Wires: Reads 25-26v when the Humidistat circuit is closed. I seem to have 24+v everywhere I check. If the relay is bad on the fan motor would jumping the brown wires still allow the fan to run?Read More

Aprilaire Installation location advice

Greetings, What a great forum! I can't believe I had not run across it months or years ago! Im considering the installation of a whole-house humidifier. The Minnesota winters are getting to me. We've been using small 1-gallon warm-air mist humidifiers but the two we have are failing, and I'd just as soon have moisture throughout the house, and not just in two bedrooms. Our two-story plus basement house was built in 1988. The house is about 1600 square feet. I'm considering the Aprilaire 500. Our furnace area is a bit tight. I'd like some input on installation locations. I've attached the image below: The position marked "A" on the supply side is easy to get to, but is also where the air conditioner coil is located. I'm not sure if this is acceptable. The position marked "B" on the return side is 10" wide, and the Aprilaire 500 installation manual needs to be 9.5 x 9.5. It would be tight, and not sure if that is an issue. Any suggestions? Do you see any better locations that I missed?
