Help wiring humidifier.

So I am doing the exact same installation (Confortmaker and AprilAire 700). I agree with “melavery” that most of the existing wires look pretty self explanatory, but just want to confirm.

-- Question / Confirm #1: The wires “R”, “C”, “W”, and “Y” look like they stay untouched. Only the existing “G” wire gets rerouted to the new humidistat "G" terminal. Then the humidistat "Gf" terminal gets routed back to the "G" terminal on the furnace (where the "G" wire was previously).

-- Question / Confirm #2: My home power panel has 2 x 30Amp breakers on the Air Conditioning / Heating system (which is gas). It seems to be one of the smaller ComfortMaker models (N8MPN050B12A). I do not think this humidifier is going to draw enough power to require an additional panel breaker but someone I know suggested I do just that. As the area around the HVAC system is mostly finished, I would hate to have to run additional power cables. Do you think I need them?

-- Question #3: The system comes with a 24 VAC transformer. On the output side of the transformer, it does not indicate which is common / neutral. Does it matter?

-- Question #4: Lastly, if I am wiring all of this as listed, but the HVAC panel has a HUM terminal, do I use it? Does that affect the connections above? If I do use the HUM terminal, I assume I need to use one of the available “NEUTRAL” connections on the panel as well. If so does it matter which I use.

Thanks for the help! See diagram / photo below...

I don't suggest wiring up the G's. Leave those off since I don't suggest running fan only to add humidity into the home.

Just hook up the R, C, and W from the humidistat to the furnace.

No, you don't need another breaker.... That 3x30amps is most likely for your outdoor unit, and the furnace itself should be on it's own breaker.. Most likey a 15 single breaker.

Nope, just wire the output to H and other side from humidifier.

You won't need it for this set up.
