Whole house dehumidifier advice
I am in the process of finishing my basement in a house built in the 1950s. I am about to install the drywall and I am on the fence about a whole house dehumidifier. Previously I used two portable units and the they ran most of the time to keep the humidity below 50. I installed a new gas furnace and AC that will heat and cool the basement and main floor of my house.
I really do not want the portable units in the floor space so I am leaning towards a whole house system. I am concerned that this will make the above grade rooms too dry. I appreciate any advice you have to offer.

Should I install it inline with my existing duct work. I have one unit supporting the basement and main floor of my home. I have one return in the basement and one in the main portion of the house. I don't think I have a humidity issue on the main floor.
