T-Stat to control humidifier

Hi there,
I have an older flow through humidifier connected to my furnace. Currently, it has its own 24VAC power connected to a humidistat that switches a 24VAC solenoid on and off based on the humidity in the duct and whether the heated air sensor senses heat or not. Majority of the time the humidifier doesn't come on because the heat sensor doesn't seem to work properly.

My plan is to connect just the solenoid to the t-stat. When the t-stat decides that humidity is required, send the 24VAC to the solenoid. However the H1 & H2 terminals of the t-stat don't seem to send any type of signal. Is there any way to make this work?

Hardware info is below:

T-Stat - Noma THM501
Furnace - Coleman G9T06010UPB13A
Furnace Control Board - White-Rogers 50A50-241
Humidifier - Wait 6000

Ok. I think I got it:
Furnace control bored is 120VAC on the HUM output
- Connected HUM hot and HUM neutral to 120VAC to 24VAC transformer
- Connected one lead from the 24VAC side of the transformer to H1 on thermostat
- Connected H2 from t-stat to one side of the solenoid
- Connected other side of solenoid to the other lead on the 24VAC side of the transformer

Everything seems to be working as it should. T-stat calls for humidifier when the humidity drops below the set point. Humidifier solenoid wont open until the furnace kicks on. Solenoid closes when either the t-stat sees the set point reached or the furnace turns off.
