Question Honeywell HE360A1075 Humidifier Misbehaving

It's that time of the year again where we need to turn on the Honeywell HE360A1075 Humidifier. However, it's acting a little strange this go around. With a brand new pad installed and water flowing, the humidifier starts up...then shuts down...starts up...then shuts down. I do not recall it acting this way last year. It turns on when the furnace is blowing, like normal, set to '40' per temperature direction, but is having a tough time running consistently.

Is this normal/common and I just didn't notice it last year, or is something awry?

Any suggestions why this humidifier would turn on and off repeatedly? Bad pressure switch? The pressure switch is installed on the return duct with the tubing connecting to the gray inlet on the switch.

The two wires coming out of the humidifier need to be shorted for the humidifier to operate. Try shorting the two wires at the pressure switch to see if unit stays running. Then you'll know which way to proceed.

Thanks for the response. With the wires shorted, the unit stays on, fan spins, and water drains. Possible humidistat or pressure switch issue? Any suggestions on how to test those individually?
