Unhappy Aprilair 800 wiring

I am trying to get my aprilair 800 to work with my geo system. Problem is the wiring calls for a W wire from the thermo. I have no W wire from my thermostat. My system is a two stage compress with a O wire to determine heat or cold)
Y2 = compressor 2 relay
Aux/E aug/emerg heat
Rc joined to R = power
O/B = changeover
Y= compressor 1 relay
G = fan relay
C= 24VAC common

I think, but have not done using the Y , but that is both both cold and hot
using the ADHC model 62

Post the complete model number and the make of the Geo unit for better assistance.

If your stat has separate O and B terminals you can connect stat B to a relay coil to only allow humidifier operation in heat mode. Wire the humidifier control wire through a set of normally open contacts on this new relay.

stat has either O or B selectable by installer. Not seperate.
But O/B normally open on heat

What is the make and model of the geo unit?

Many units have a terminal for the use of a humidifier. If you post the model number we may be able to look this up.

Many posters use things like "E series" for a model but we would need the complete model number to bring up your diagram.

Florida heat pump AP035 -1VTC

Y2 = second stage compressor
Y1 = First stage compressor
G = fan relay
O = reversing valve (energized in cooling)
W1 = Aux heat ( electric + compressor)
Em/W2 = emerg heat (electric only)
NC = Transformer 24 v common (extra connection)
C1 = transformer common (primary connection)
R = transformer 24V hot
HUM = Dehumidification Mode

Looks like the Florida line is manufactured by Bosch now. Not much online in servicing info.

might work

the idea of an extra relay might work if the relay were normally closed. Then when cool is called for it would open. Only issue is if i turn the fan on in heat mode the humidifier would come on.

is there a different stat i can get that would work?

I see a manual for this FHP AP035 but the Hum terminal is for dehumidification.

The relay will work if you use the O terminal and wire your humidistat through a set of normally closed contacts as you have posted.

The Honeywell Prestige IAQ would be able to control humidification and dehumidification.
It only requires 2 conductors between the stat and an equipment interface module that you install by the geo unit.

It would be a better option since my diagram would only lock out the humidifier in cool mode not when heating has cycled off. An additional relay with Y and C to the coil and the humidistat wired through a set of normally open contacts would also be required to lock out the humidifier when the compressor is not running.

lots of food for thought.. These are great, and probably the only solutions. I will have to get someone more advanced then me to implement them. Thanks greatly.

I did try turning on the A/C to see if the system would at least start to work. I did start to filling the canister. Not sure that proves anything though. Too cold here to leave on for long.
thanks again. At least i know there is a solution.
