Nest 2.0 + Honeywell HE360 + Relay

Hello all! I have been reading various posts and have saved down many diagrams and other pictures that you all have posted as I prepare to wire my Honeywell HE360 humidifier to my system. I wanted to get some input on the relay that I have and see if it would work, and if so, how I would wire everything properly.

I also want to confirm that I can wire everything together without using the provided humidistat and instead just wire directly to the Nest.

I picked up a White Rodgers 90-293Q a while back but now it looks like that relay might not be the right one. If it will work, how is it wired?

Any questions on anything or if I need to post any pictures, let me know!

Thanks,

Dustin

Welcome to the forums.

The 90-293 is just a double throw relay..... it'll work fine here.

Awesome! That helps a lot and I'm glad that relay will work. Is this diagram pretty much what I want to do to get the Nest to control the humidifier?

Thanks!

Ok, so I guess this might be more complicated than I thought. At least for me! Trying to piece together how I am supposed to wire everything using a chart like the one below. Here's what I put together for my system so far:

What I'm trying to do now is figure out what all of the wires inside of the furnace should be connected to. I have a couple of pictures of the wiring and can provide more details if necessary. Hoping that I can sketch something up that will tell me which wires to connect to what and it's not too difficult.

I was hoping to use the diagrams I found on here for other systems to help guide me, but it looks like I don't know enough to just convert the wiring for one system to another confidently. Any help would be appreciated!

Just let me know what else I need to figure this one out (if anything).

Thanks!

Dustin

Is the nest currently installed ? If not....

Look at the current thermostat. Post the model number and what color is on each screw terminal.

Yes, the Nest is already installed and here is the way it is wired:

So..... your question is how to wire the humidifier ?

You need an extra conductor from the thermostat to the furnace. That wire will be dedicated from the * terminal to the relay coil. The other relay coil contact gets connected to the same place your blue thermostat wire connects to.
