Haier HDN655e control issue?

Hi,

I have a Haier HDN655e dehumidifier that works fine except the temperature display always reads HI instead of the temperature and now the humidity display always reads 45% no matter if it is humid in the room or not. If I set the desired humidity to <45, then it runs fine.

I'm thinking it is either the humidity sensor, the control board or both. Any thoughts?

Joe

Welcome to the forums.

You mean it runs...... not runs fine since it won't shut off automatically.

It sounds like a control board problem. There is a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor. It would be doubtful that both went bad.

I can't confirm if it will shut off or not since the place where it is located is quite large and I'm not sure it would ever get that dry. However, I can give that a try by putting another dehumidifier in the same space to see if it will shut off.

I tend to agree though, it doesn't seem like both sensors would go bad. The temperature has been reading "HI" for a while. The humidity reading has just started this summer.

Thanks!
