Post Aprilaire 800 and Nest Wiring

I plan on installing an Aprilaire 800 humidifier in the attic where the furnace is located, Carrier 58sta/stx - the home is two floors.

If the Nest (2.0) thermostat is located on the first floor, do I splice in the humidifier wiring in the attic with the use of a relay, like the 6AZU2 (or Emerson 90-290Q, which I purchased). No additional wiring down to the thermostat?

Thanks in advance!

Between the relay and the stat you need a wire for the *. If you have a spare... you're all set.

Any chance you'd know the corresponding connections on a Rogers 90-290Q?

1 and 3 are the coil (thermostat)
2 and 4 are the switch. (humidifier)
