Humidifier solenoid not turning off

I posted about this months back but have finally gotten back to working on it and did not resolve my issue before.

I followed this diagram to hook my humidifier up to the nest.
I have also included pictures of my furnace wiring diagram and circuit board.

My issue is, even now in summer when my AC is on the Humidifier is running.
Do I have it wired incorrectly?
Any thoughts or suggestions to diagnose the problem?

When you disconnect one of the wires AT the solenoid.... the system stops ?

Your wiring is correct and would mean that the nest is calling for humidity.
You can confirm that by disconnecting the * wire to the nest.

Yes,
I disconnect the * wire from the relay and the system shuts off.
The nest is set Hum.
Hum. only
Don't activate Fan

The nest sub base has a problem.

Thanks, I will contact Nest. I saw some wiring diagrams had wire to R not HUM. Is there an advantage to using R?

You can run it to R. Either way.

The nest still has to tell the relay to close so the R to HUM connections has no effect on that.

Crawl space humidity causing floor issues

When I bought my house about 2 years ago (during the spring) the tiles in the kitchen were loose so we replaced them. The tile guy said the issue was likely because the thin-set was not done properly (some tiles popped up by hand!) in some areas but great in others. The subfloor was in good condition, so they partially floated the floor. The tiles have started to become unsettled again in the areas where it is floating. This only happens in the summer when the AC is running a lot. Other times, there is no issue, but the grout is starting to crack in some places. I went in the crawl space yesterday and it had a musty smell to it. There were a few puddles of water under the exposed metal junctions for the vent runs and the air handler. It looked like they were covered in sweat similar to a can in the summer. Otherwise, it looked OK, I don’t see any obvious damage or issues with rot. It was clearly humid but didn’t feel like a swamp. When we moved in the inspector checked the humidity, venting, and vapor barrier and said everything looked good. I live in Raleigh, NC where summer humidity and temps are high. The house was built in 2000. My crawl space is about 2000 square feet, dirt floor, has vents (currently open and a few can’t be closed since things like cable service run through them), and is currently 80-90% covered with a vapor barrier. The barrier does not cover the edges or go up the cinder block at all. It is sloped and is about 2’ at the shortest corner to about 4’ at the tallest. My thinking is that the flooring issues are due to the wood expanding because it’s getting hot and humid in there during the summer. Does that sound right? What is the best, cost efficient way to fix it? We are probably only going to be in the house a few more years and don’t want to spend a fortune, but we want to fix the issue properly. My initial thought was to put a de-humidifier in there and attach it to the existing pump for the AC then close and insulate the vents. Since the floor is mostly covered would that be enough? Nest Gen2 Dehumidifier

Hi, I tried to connect my dehumidifiers to my Nest Gen2. Here is how my dehumidifier is actually plugged. On my dehum, I have 2 cables Grey and Red that is going to my furnace. I traced the cables into my furnace and the grey is going to my dehumstat and the red is plugged to the R on the furnace motherboard and to the Rc of my Nest. The actual dehumstat has 2 cables, the grey above and a purple, I also traced the purple cable in the furnace and this one is going to the C of the furnace motherboard and the C of the Nest. How can I plug my dehumidifier to my nest? Do I need a relay? Thanks a lotRead More
