Aprilaire 600 only works in test. Manual Mode

Bought my house awhile ago but the humidifier never worked. It's a Aprilaire 600 humidifier. It works in test mode.Have are some pictures

https://imgur.com/a/X01Tm

The brown wire contains a white and red wire inside.
Furnace: Red Wire=HUM/24VAC - White Wire=C (hard to see in the picture but it is connected)

Humidifier: Red Wire=R - White Wire=C

Humidifier H= connects the valve that opens the water

Humidifier ODT= Has a "Manual Mode" connector

Please help, from what I found online it all looks good. This has been driving me crazy.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums.

That is a model 56 auto trac humidistat. I'm not real familiar with that units internal operation. It looks like the wiring is correct.

I left the link to the manual.
Try the checkout..... in the blue box on page three.

Thanks for replying and thanks for the PDF.

It looks like it's wired correctly. I have 2 furnaces that are both wired up like this and both don't work.

If you have any suggestions of what I could try, I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Do you have the switches set to BYPASS and not the POWER position ?

Mine was the same and also working only at test, but wired wrong. After I wired it to HUM and C it started working properly.
I had higher expectation of the outcome, now water runs for almost the full cycle of the heating goes to the drain pump and gets pumped in the sink.
I think this entire design is flawed from beginning to end.
I put more info on anotehr forum.
First, soaking the water panel depends on it being perfectly horizontal. Then, circulation gets supposedly humidified air and circling it through heating element, filter and air handler to distribute.
It simply is not doing sufficient job on my end.
Look at the installation manual for Aprilaire 600, just makes no sense.
