Aprilaire Model 560 Valve/Selenoid stuck open

As I walked into the utility room toady, I noticed that the water was flowing in the humidifier while the furnace was off. I switched off main power to furnace, water still going. Same with humididstat set to off.
I did a couple of cycles closing/opening the supply valve. After about 5 cycles I got the solenoid to stay closed.
My assumption is that some dirt got inside?
Should I replace the valve?

Dirt can get inside new valve. Better off investing in an in line water filter.

The valve got stuck open again after the furnace cycled. I guess I need to replace it and add a filter?

They can be taken apart and cleaned.

I've never installed a filter on one before but if you know you have a high mineral or sediment problem...... it couldn't hurt.

I do know first hand that if you don't have enough pressure going to it..... it won't shut off.
This is a typical problem with saddle type water valves that clamp onto the supply line.

thanks. I turned the valve all the way out for a test. Still had the issue. Ended up replacing the valve. All is well again.
