I didnt make it out this year ,but based on the shooting or lack of I would guess things are slow.(i live close enough that I can hear the shooting)Our water levels are also very low but we did get a good rain last week but not what we need to hold the level. Most of the ducks taken for the past several years are wood ducks ,teal, mallards.(black duck late season)There is always some other's mixed in but....(Speaking about W. MICHIGAN.)

last weekend (the opener)

saturday: limit...3 green wing teal, 3 gadwall

sunday: limit...1 mallard, 3 greenwing teal, 1 widgeon, 1 gadwall

a front blew through on friday which i honestly think hurt..pushed some birds out. same thing is setting up for this weekend...cool front pushed through last night, rain and chilly (that means 40-50 in Texas). i have a feeling i will still load up the strap

good luck

you guys have all had good luck, back here in the east it is mostly wood ducks. limited the first day on woodies, and picked up couple of greenwing, but I haven't seen any mallards yet. In NC, we haven't had any cold weather. Glad to hear other hunters having good luck.

Heads-up Quackupp

Those good days in this thread were all last year.

Let us hear from others about how things are going this year.

At least in the Carolina's we don't have a drought this year.

Well....No ducks but the neighbor and I had 2 1/2 dozen Doves. We deepfried them in the driveway and shared with the other guys in the culde-sac with beer. Times like these are fun.

Wow, neat reading this from last year.

This year has been the polar opposite...we have more water than i think i have ever seen. all the rivers are out of their banks, lakes are full, etc.

I have been stomping the ducks this year. mallards, teal, gadwall and TONS of widgeon. My new duck boat is getting many miles this year.

Time to go kill bambi tomorrow to get that out of the way.
