How to use Rat Trap?
Hi,
I am having difficulty understanding how the following mouse trap works. I purchased it today and thought it would not be that difficult yet it seems so complex and dangerous as well to manipulate.

Don't think I've ever seen one made out of metal. They all work pretty much the same, you fold the part that snaps back and hold it in place with the little metal rod. It's held by that little 'loop' on the end.

Search online for "victor mouse trap instructions" or "how to set a mousetrap" will turn up videos and picture instructions. Below is a photo of one that is set. Even though yours is metal the mechanism works the same.
When setting a trap be mindful of where your fingers are. If the wire jaw slips loose you don't want to catch yourself. It stings on mouse traps and rat traps can be downright painful and might even break a finger if it catches you wrong.
