Moles in my lawn

From what I have read, there are many methods used to eliminate moles tunneling in the lawn. I would rather not go through the experimental stage to determine which methods work best so I thought it would help to get some feedback from those of you that have has some degree of success with whatever method you used. Any input will be appreciated.....thanks, Buz

I agree 100%. Chewing gum (juicy fruit) is an urban legend, but there may be some other types of bait (like rat/mouse bait) that might work... I can't speak for that. Mole traps are best.

Last time I was going to trap a mole I knew which way he was tunnelling, since he was going along the edge of the sidewalk and it was getting longer and longer, I knew which end to set the trap on. I gingerly pressed the soil (on one of his tunnels) down with my foot and a second later he popped his head up out of a hill (right next to me) to see what the heck was going on. I quickly punted him onto the street... I think it would have been good from 50 yards.

I'm not a big fan of killing animals for no reason, but he was absolutely destroying an otherwise immaculate lawn.

Moles like to eat worms. Search “mole poison worms”. They look like “gummy” worms. As with trapping, you need to determine which tunnels are active. There are directions with the label.

traps are the only thing that work from my experience. my wife stopped letting me use them though since she didnt want to kill animals. I tried everything else and nothing worked other than traps. cats sometimes kill them too.

I have tried poison baits, smoke bombs, and harpoon traps. None worked. Then I tried a scissor style trap. Score one for the homeowner.

I tried the traps but have not had any luck. I found some specrticide mole stop and this seems to be working.
