Dog Fleas
A hunting buddy, Jim Rice, had 5 english setters ( Jim went to a happier place 15 years ago) and he used to put brewers yeast in their food to control fleas.....anyone have experience with this tactic and does it work?

While some things can be wives tales that does not mean we must rush out, & toxify our pets. Some of these products can injure or even kill your pet. There are many less Toxic & less long term pest controls that will do the job just as well, only not on your pets delacate liver.

We raise Goldens, & have been using the above products with great sucess. Another benifit is we don't come into contact with those very toxic products our Vet used to sell. With the results we have had over the last 8 years our Vet now sells (Pet friendly Products only) That's what She calls them. She sees more Dogs than I do, & says she has seen liver damage, & deaths when she used the conventional toxic pest controls.
Our Goldens seem to act, & feel much better once we stopped using the very toxic pest control products also. No Worms, fleas or Ticks = happy dogs
PS: We have been giving our Dogs brewers yeast in their Home made food for over 3 decades. I can't say if it controls Fleas but it sure helps their skin, & coats

Brewer's yeast is rich in vitamin B, thus aiding in building a strong immune system. Supposedly animals with high immune systems are less attractive to fleas. Some animals, however, are allergic to yeast and will develop a rash.
