Small Birds inside exterior walls

I have found 2 entrees for nesting finch/sparrow /chicka dee inside the exterior walls. Is there a trick to get them out without killing them or trapping them insde. I've heard the sound for awhile but thought it was the bushes. Can they do alot of damage? TIA Steve

Just wait until the end of August when everything will be finished nesting. Block up the access holes then.

Thx I'd read that the breeding ends in Aug and fledging is about 14 days so mid Sept should be a good time to block up the accesses?
