House Flies in my attic

I went up into my attic today and found house flies, 100's on them. It looks like they got in through a gap between my flashing and my chimney. They're all grouping together at the highest point on my roof because it's getting colder and they trying to stay alive. I started using bug killer on them but they keep falling into my insulation (blow in) basically I'm worried that they going to come back alive the spring time and bite me in the ass. what should I do?

Hang one 10" flypaper strip per 1000 cubic feet. Replace when completely covered. There are fly light traps available, but not all types of flies are attracted to light. Identification of the type of fly is important. There are insecticides available, but should be considered a last resort. Flies can enter structures through tiny cracks. Exclusion is the best and most permanent control. Seal all cracks with caulk and cover gable end vents with fine screen wire.
