Good advice twelvepole, Fungus knats we had a bout of them last summer and it worked great...not sure if i brought them home on bananas or they were in the dirt on a plant that i bought. Vinigar worked great, I also hung yellow sticky strips and they seem to be attracted to that too. Purchased them at the local nursery.

Fungus gnats feed and breed on decaying organic material. The most common breeding ground is overly wet houseplants. Plants should be allowed to dry out. Both plant and soil should be sprayed with insecticide for houseplants. Saucers should be disinfected. Sometimes they move onto breed in drains, refrigerator and air conditioner drip pans. The source of the breeding grounds should be found and treated. Sticky traps are often helpful.
