Wasps behind window flashings

Since it's warming up I decided to re-paint my wood windows. When I was doing the upstairs windows (using a 24' ladder) I notice a wasps sneaking in between one particular flashing, then I notice a another sneaking in between another flashing carry a piece of grass. So I figured they're in the process of setting up home. Hoping to deter their process, I took my indoor/outdoor bug spray and saturated the area of the flashing while trying to get behind the flashing. Working on a 24' ladder and not being able to see the actual nest makes it hard to spray while watching out for angry wasps.

This was over a week ago and today I notice te small action happening behind the flashing. I have no idea what type of wasps they are, and frankly I don't care unless different methods depends on type of wasps.

Is there anything I can stick in between the flashing that will drive them away?

The best time to spray is after the sun goes down and they're in there.
