Sarcoptic Mange Mite
Hello. My cat was diagnosed with sarcoptic mange 3 months ago. Now my 2 dogs, 2 cats, and I have it. We are suffering here. I have tried everything to apply on them, ivermectin, revolution, lymsulfur dips, shampoos, but to no avail, we still have it. I am spraying permethrin mixed with water on the couches and where they sleep and hang out. I have quarantined one of the cats, as she is suffering the most. I can't seem to get this under control. Is there anything you can suggest that I can spray around the house and out in the yard for sarcoptic mange mite? I understand that the mite doesn't live long off the host animal, but this has been going on now for 3 months and I can't get it under control. I have also been to the doctor and have applied permethrin cream on myself for this, but after a few days, i get the itches again. I live in south florida where it is warm and humid and i am keeping the a/c on all the time, so it doesn't get sticky in t he house, because i read they live better in warm moist climates. Help me please!!
Thank you. Melinda

Infestation on pets can be ongoing due to life cycle of the mites. Ongoing persistent treatment is recommended with special shampoos and dips. Because mites are passed back and forth among pets, it may be necessary to separate pets. Special sanitation efforts must be taken inside the home.

Sarcoptic Mange Mite
I have a natural remedy that works. I asked a friend as I am unemployed. She recommended I librally douse my kittens with vegitable oil as it would suffocate the mites. Then repeat the process in 7 days. It works, my kittens are mite free and happy/playful again. Try it.
