Unhappy 2 or 3 to 20 bees between foundation & siding...

Ok, I know the title doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it will.

We were taking out the bushes along our house foundation when I noticed 2 or 3 bees flying around. After backing up for a minute, I saw where they were going in between the top of the foundation (we have a basement) & the bottom of the siding.

I tried to move back in to take out that one last bush, but kept getting buzzed by them. I decided to wait.

Last Sat am it got down to about 39 degrees at about 5:30. After I took out the dogs & got my water hose & squirted underneath the bottom of the siding in a upwards motion for about 30 seconds & then moved back. After I got a safe distance away, there were a total of about 20 give or take that were buzzing around.

With this info, can anyone give me suggestions for getting rid of them or due to the number I have seen is it too late to where I have to call an exterminator?

Thanks.

Update..

Tonight I went out after dark (about 45degrees) & shined my mini maglight at the place where I saw them (actually between the foundation block wall & the sill plate).

From my view I can't tell if they are boring up into the sill plate from inside the mason block foundation or if their nest is just inside the block wall.

I managed to scoop 2 into a jar with a lid & didn't see any stingers on them, so I assume they are carpenter bees? Of course, if they are, then my earlier suspicion of a nest in the block wall is probably false. Again, if they are, looks like they have found a home in my sill plate.

How do I get rid of them?

Here's a pic...

Thanks !

Dust the area with some Sevin or buy some canned bug bomb and set it just south of the area and let the gas penetrate behind the siding. Done.
