We just moved to a house in the Florida panhandle. We were told by the realtor we were not allowed to use the dishwasher. it is however, hooked up. For the last couple weeks we have noticed slug trails in the kitchen, as well as a slug on the floor. Upon opening the dishwasher, we found alot of baby slugs (black squiggles) in the dishwasher. No standing water. Anyone? Please?

Welcome to the DIY forums Demorae
Sorry it's b/c of this situation...
Although I don't know the answer to your question, I would like to suggest you ask the realtor. Since you mentioned "realtor"...I am assuming you bought the home? If you are renting, definitely call the realtor and ask "why?" Actually, ask anyway! Sure seems like the realtor knows something's goin' on.
Just something to do in the meanwhile as I know others will chime in.

Yep, we are renting. I did leave a msg on the machine, but it takes days, if not weeks, for a reply from them. As far as they are concerned everything is our problem. They are a leasing agent and the owner wants nothing to do with the tenants.

Slugs indicate moisture issues beneath and around the home. They can find their way indoors and leave slimy trails. Slugs sometimes get brought indoors from potted plants from a local greenhouse or garden center. Inspect around and beneath home for leaks and moisture issues and correct them. Seal all cracks and gaps where slugs, insects, or their predators can enter the structure. Make sure all doors and windows seal properly.
