cost to remove termites
I live in NY outside the city. I was wondering if anyone had about a range to have someone come in and treat for termites or protect against getting termites

Costs of termite treatments tend to vary from area to area and among exterminators. Request inspections from three or more companies. You will want to know the cost for inspection, estimates, payment terms, and warranty. Asking your friends and neighbors for recommendations for companies to call will help you in making a decision about whom to call.
The inspector should give you a written report of findings, identifying areas needing treatment. This usually includes a drawing of the structure with problem areas identified and estimated costs. Let each company you call know that you are shopping around. Once property has been treated, maintain the yearly contract and inspection.

I would also recommend having the treatment done in the winter or at the very least not in the panic of swarm season.
Winter time especially October is lean for termite salesmen, swarm season is money making time

Hi, this is the first time I have replied to a thread here, and am scared to sound silly... but anyway...
I don't know about treatment but for prevention there are bait stations. You can open them up periodically and see if there have been any termites eating the bait inside and replace them if needed.
No idea what the cost or availability would be there though.
I think they are around $200 Australian Dollars here.
