LITTLE black bugs under mulch
Maple tree in front yard, we just bought some cedar mulch and planted some flowers around it. Noticed today that if I pull back the mulch, there are THOUSANDS of these TINY little blcak bugs swirling around under there.
Any idea what they could be and are they harmful to the tree?

If you do not like bugs, do not look under mulch. Many bugs live under mulch. These typically do not harm trees. Pull mulch back away from trunk. You may want to pull mulch back from base of plants.
