Clover Mites

It appears I have a Clover Mite infestation on my brick patio and sides of house. They are a tiny red bug that leave a red streak when you squash them. They have come out of nowhere in the last few days to overtake my patio and everything on it. Fortunately, they are not in the house yet, so I need to take care of them before it gets worse.

Does anyone know how to best get rid of these bugs? I've sprayed some over the counter bug/ant spray all around the patio, but the mites come back within a day. Any help to prevent or solve this problem would be helpful. Thanks.
