flies in home
This happens twice a year, i get swarms of flies in my home. I'll see one, leave the room, come back and it will be multiplied by 30 or more. I swat at them, but it seems that out of nowhere they are regrouping. It seems they start in my laundry room,( im really not sure) but they are in my bathroom which is located right next to my laundry room, and then in my bedroom. It seems they like the light since that is where tons of them are hanging out. Ive noticed that they are attracted to the light bulbs, but im really not sure. Does anyone know where they come from and what are drain flies? Can flies really come up from a drain? Its driving me insane.

Drain flies (psychoda) are very tiny and would be active year round until solved. Look them up on internet. Sometimes flies just happen, no good answer or reason although there is a reason. Just that there is little we can do sometimes. I imagine that they are attracted to the windows for the light. Take a crawling insect spray, water based with trigger bottle is good but aerosols work too. Treat around the frame, vertical and horizontally, grids, etc. When it dries it will leave a residual which will kill them. Won't stop them from emerging, but should give relief.
