What to Substitute for Borax as Home-made Bait?

Hi,

There are no available ant baits in our local stores and I would like to mix some borax-sugar solution but the problem is there ain't no borax too. Are there other alternatives to borax that is commonly available?

You mean in the detergent section of your supermarket they no longer sell 20 Mule Team Borax? Heres the store locator 20 Mule Team® Borax and I saw a Target ad on Google for it.

But are you sure it wasn't boric acid?

They change the box. I use it to raise the PH in my pool. It took me several walks down the aisle to find it.

Borax really isn't an attractant, but a repellent, so mixing it with sugar may not be the best thing to do. I just sprinkle borax around and that's it.
