Squirrels control

Squirrels are invading my patio and flowerbed and turning them into their playground. They are eating my plants and nearby mulch/wood chips and make a mess everyday. What is a good deterrent for them so they will stay away from my patio? Thanks!

.22 long rifle, or rat shot comes to mind. But for a more humane method, you could put bird seed in a feeder on your property line or in the woods where they can see it. Mothballs in your flower bed, not touching a plant may help.

Check out various animal urines that can be found in trapping supply houses. Iíd consider the bobcat, coyote, etc urines. Be careful not to get them on anything other than the targeted area because they are very odiferous.

If you try live-trapping on the ground you should close the traps at night so that skunks, etc donít get in them.
