Large and small ants on same trail

We have small and larger ants on the same trail, currently in the bathroom. They look the same just one is twice the size of the other. Any ideas on what this is?

Colonies of the larger ants such as carpenter ants will have major and minor workers. Possibly that is whats going on.

It is possible that one ant colony is raiding another colony, but that is so unlikely to happen indoors.
