Just need a professionals diagnosis because everything online looks the same. He’s dead and kinda flattened but hoping he’s still identifiable.

I can't tell what it is. Small details are important in ID'ing bed bugs.

Other insects that look similar are "bat bugs" which do come from bat infestations in attic, especially if the bats have been removed. Very similar.

Carpet beetles are another insect that is mistaken for bed bugs. Carpet beetles can be black but the "varied carpet beetle" is mistaken for bed bugs.

Take the specimen to the local County Agricultural extension office. In PA it is an extension of Penn State, the extension offices are always reputable and objective.

Good lighting and a camera on macro would really help. Plus it should be flipped over to see the underside not just the back.
