Black or brown hairy mold, undoubtedly. (Stemonitis sp. S. fusca or similar) Mold is a fungus so it comes in all shapes just like a mushroom does.

suspecting bird mites and the dirt looks like fine coffee powder, getting an exterminator, any experience on how to clean them? or just hire a professional?

It's not insect, I'm sure of that. Could be rodent maybe although usually rodents fecal droppings are individual droppings, though diet can change that.
Do you see any seeds, hair, or other undigested material in it?
Did it appear all at once as opposed to over time?
For my eyes it needs brighter light focused on the subject. I can't see details.

I can't zoom in at all. I still can't see details. There may be mites on the windowsill but that black mass isn't mites. Birds mites that I've dealt with come from bird nests, oftentimes pigeons, nesting very near a window or roof penetration. Mechanical/physical controls are the only way to solve that for a long term solution, meaning nest/bird removal and either waiting until mites die or physical clean them up with soap/water, ammonia/water, etc.

Bird mites tend to be gray in my experience; clover mites are bright red to dark red, almost black. Clover mites come from exterior soil/grass perimeter. Both are very tiny to the point of needing a magnifying glass for many of us to see properly.
