Very large roaches, what to do??

Hey guys so another situation to deal with sighhhhhhh

Every now and whenever we will have these very large roaches appear, not many but like one at a time, that we can see. Can anyone tell me how to quickly get rid of or prevent this type of very large roach please?

The larger species of roaches come from under the streets, basements, utility areas, etc. They don't breed or live well in living areas, though they do show up there. Some reasons that you see them periodically as opposed to all the time could be street repairs/excavation close by that are chasing them inside following the under ground pipes, lots of rain that raises storm drain levels rapidly, etc.

All the plumbing and even wiring goes to ground and below ground level which opens up access to even the top floors of buildings. The sewage drains/pipes are the biggest culprit, requiring the larger openings and pipe chases. The sewage pipes are connected to the main pipes/stacks that go from roof top venting to underneath the streets to the sewers. They don't come inside the pipes, but follow the pipes throughout the network of pipes. Everytime I saw a house "roughed in", I was amazed the network of pipes, ducts, wires, that most people don't know is there.

That said, sealing/plugging all pipe access/chases as well as possible can help keep them out of the apt, but they will still get under bathroom cabinets even though they can't get into the bathroom proper. Even behind the kitchen stove where the gas pipe/electric wire enter will be an access for them. "Stuff-it" copper mesh is good for sealing larger openings that can't be caulked.

The larger roaches are controlled by granular bait better than the gel baits. Intice, Invict, Max Force, Advion make good granular baits. Don't use a lot at any one time as they will find it. You can put a little into pipe openings or place granules on wax paper squares here and there.

Max Force is a good one. That and Intice are good choices. Too many choices, maybe, when trying to figure out what a cockroach would want... If you could find small quantities of each, as they are different bait matrix's, that would be a way of covering a wide spectrum.

Just reporting back that your advice worked again. There was a new house being built 2 houses away and they did extensive work on the road/sewer for like one to two months. I had put the Entice down exactly as you had advised and we saw only one dead large roach. Thanks a million for helping me with yet another pest problem, many blessings!
