disinfecting computer peripherals mice poop

Found mouse poop on our couch amid wires to a keyboard and mouse and a switch with a thumb drive (which I need). We know how to dispose of the poop (mask, saturate, pick up with gloves etc) but is there way to disinfect all the computer stuff so they wont be damaged and they will be safe for us to handle them?

HELP!

About the only thing you can do is wipe it down with a cleaner/disinfectant!

Just use a Lysol or Clorox wipe.

The advice given above will work fine. Hard, non-porous surfaces are relatively easy to clean/sanitize.

For plastic areas such as the mouse and keyboard, rubbing alcohol or clorox wipes will be fine. Rubbing alcohol will reach through the cracks.

For electronic exposed circuit boards such as the bottom of hard drive, usb ports, etc..., please do not use any moisture/liquid base stuffs.

#1 You can buy a UVC light bulb (about $25) which must be handled with care or can caused cancer.
#2 You can buy an ozone generator (about $50) which also must be handled with care and should not breathe in the O3.

You should not be in the room for both during operations. Please research before purchase and use.

As for the keyboard, if it is not expensive to replace, I would just replace it because disinfecting/sanitizing a keyboard is a challenge. With that being said, I always wrap a sheet of plastic Cling wrap on my keyboard and replace it every week since I like to eat potato chips, cookies, etc.. next to my keyboard.
