I want to insulate my unfinished attic. There are a few inches of blown-in insulation in place now. There is knob and tube wiring in the floor of the attic. Is there an approved fiberglass insulation that I can lay over the existing insulation AND the knob and tube wiring without hazard of fire ?

Unfortunately you cannot insulate over knob and tube wiring. Though I know many contractors that have done so.

I have done these types of houses and the best material to use from the stand point of higher efficiency, no mold or cancer problems and ease of installation is a radiant barrrier system.

Your installation is going to require some involved information, so contact me at "[email protected]"

Thank you
