Is there an industry standard published anywhere that describes the safety characteristics of all the most common, and commercially available, residential insulation products. Is there a standards body that has conducted safety tests (I am concerned about fire hazards) and published the results anywhere?

The information you request about safety and fire resistant, is right on each insulation package. It is on the part that people cut open and throw away. Modern insulation will not burn. It will melt. I suppose it would melt at a very temp. But at that temp, you would not be worrying about it.
