insulation for pole barn

I presently have 3/4" foam board as my only insulation between the steel roof and the trusses. I would like to add more insulation to the roof between the trusses like adding 6" of fiberglass insulation. Do I need a vapor barrier and where would it go, towards the roof or towards the inside of the building? Or is there something better than fiber glass?

Vapor barriers go on the heated side of the area. This prevents warm, humid air from entering a cold area and causing condensation problems. For expert insulation advice, you can ask our in-house energy expert, one of our Energy Forum mods, at www.resercon.com. There is a wealth of info on insulation, energy conservation, and ventilation on his website.
