access to attic with new insulation

Last fall I had rock wool blown into my attic for insulation. Although I should have considered it sooner, I would like to add an exhaust vent to a bathroom. In order to access that area from above for installation, I would need to cross the attic (going through the new insulation).

Can I just walk through the rock wool? Do I rake it back in place when I am done? I am concerned about making sure I step on the ceiling joists when I can't see them.

Any suggestions?

Just feel where you walk for sure when done just fluff it back up. I have had a few of my guys go through the ceiling Its not fun. Some small boards will help. You are going to vent this fan on out side and not in the attic I hope .
