Do I need insulation between interior floors?
In a house I just bought, there is R13 insulation between the first & second floors on the inside of the house. It seems to me that all that will do is keep too much heat on the first floor, limiting it to the second. I would like to remove it. Is there any reason for it to stay? Which is better, remove it or leave it, and why?

Thanks. Well, when we were looking at the house before buying, it was the middle of winter and one thing I noticed was that while the first floor WAS hot, the second floor was much more moderate. It's a single zone heating system, so I think removing it will actually create a better balance. Yes? No? Any other opinions?
Thanks for your input, Ed.

That certainly makes sense. The only trouble is that right now, the house is gutted and I can get to everything now... *sigh*
Decision time, I guess.
